Harbour Counselling

Feeling like you’re a little lost at sea?

You might be feeling down or anxious, questioning a relationship, or sensing you’re not living the life you were meant to. Perhaps you’re navigating grief, heartbreak, or job loss. These experiences can leave you feeling overwhelmed and unmoored—as though you’ve lost your sense of direction and purpose.

You don’t have to face this alone. I offer a safe, confidential space where you can explore what you’re going through and also develop tools and strategies to help facilitate change.

I’m here to help.

I'm a qualified counsellor working with adults, and I truly believe in your capacity to overcome whatever you're facing.

Whether you're feeling anxious, low, overwhelmed, stuck in unhelpful patterns, carrying trauma, or navigating life changes, I'm here to support you. Together we'll explore your experiences, build self-awareness, and develop practical tools tailored to your needs.

I became a therapist after seeing mental health challenges impact people I cared about, and I am driven by a genuine passion to see people thrive.

I hold a BA (Hons), BTh (Oxon) (Hons) and a Dip HE in Counselling. I bring over 25 years of experience supporting people in a variety of settings and life situations. This breadth of experience has given me a deep appreciation for the uniqueness and resilience of people.

I am a registered member of the BACP and ACC, with my practice following their ethical frameworks, and I am listed on their directories - ensuring my work remains professional, accountable, and aligned with the highest standards in counselling and psychotherapy.

Outside of work I love sport- particularly cricket and rugby- spectating, not playing! I also enjoy watching films, going to the gym, padel tennis, long walks and a good coffee.

How I Work

You are the expert on your own life. My role isn't to give advice or tell you what to do — it's to work alongside you. I provide a supportive, empathetic environment where you can explore your experiences, thoughts, feelings and challenges in your own time and at your own pace.

I believe wholeheartedly that, with the right support, you have the capacity to face whatever life brings and find a path forward — no matter how difficult things may feel right now.

Our work together will be shaped around you. Drawing from a range of therapeutic approaches, I tailor each session to your individual needs, circumstances and goals, so that the support you receive feels relevant, meaningful and genuinely helpful.

Based just outside Cranleigh in Surrey, I offer flexible counselling options, including in-person sessions, secure online therapy, a blended approach, and walk and talk therapy for those who find being outdoors helpful.

Who I Work With

People seek therapy for many reasons. You don’t need to be in crisis to begin — sometimes life simply feels heavier, more confusing, or harder to manage than it used to. I regularly work with clients experiencing:

  • Anxiety, worry or panic

  • Low mood or depression

  • Stress and feeling overwhelmed

  • Relationship difficulties

  • Bereavement, loss and grief

  • Low self-esteem or confidence

  • Life transitions and change

  • Work-related pressures

  • Identity or existential questions

  • Feeling stuck or unfulfilled

  • Addiction

You are welcome to bring whatever feels most pressing, confusing or distressing to you.

Ways We Can Work Together

In Person

My private, quiet practice room is based at my home just outside Cranleigh in Surrey. It’s designed to be a calm, confidential place for you to talk and be heard.

Online

Secure video (or telephone) sessions are available for those who live further away or who work from home.

Walk and Talk

For those who find being outdoors helpful, we can talk while walking in natural surroundings - a gentle, less formal way to reflect and talk.

For those who prefer, I offer a blended approach of in person, online and walk and talk to accommodate for different schedules (and the weather….)

What To Expect

Initial Conversation
Our initial conversation, which is a fifteen minute free call, is a chance for us to meet and talk about what has brought you to counselling. You can ask questions, share at your pace, and see whether working together feels right. There’s no obligation beyond this first meeting.

Assessment and Consultation
Once you have decided you would like to work with me, an assessment and consultation forms an essential first step in our work together. This first session together allows me to gain a deeper understanding of what you're experiencing and helps us both determine how to best meet your needs.

Ongoing Sessions
Counselling usually continues in weekly 50-minute sessions at the same time each week. Regular meetings help build trust and continuity, supporting meaningful change and deeper understanding, with a review after 12 sessions. Whether you need 6 sessions or 60 my commitment is to work with you for as long as you need.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Therapy is a gradual process rather than an immediate solution, though research demonstrates substantial psychological benefits for clients who actively engage—whether sessions occur online or in person.

  • A 50 minute session costs £70

  • I believe change happens when the counselling approach reflects the needs of the client, rather than a fixed modality. This is also reflected in my willingness to blend how we meet as and when a client needs it. I also bring many years of experience working in a variety of contexts which has given me a unique insight into how approach particular challenges.

  • This will depend on what your particular needs are, and your willingness to really engage in the work. My commitment is that I will work with you for as long as you need, whether that is three months or three years.

  • Your confidentiality is paramount and creates the secure, trusting environment essential for effective therapy. I adhere to the ethical guidelines of the BACP, NCPS and ACC, maintaining strict confidentiality with very few exceptions. These exceptions include situations involving risk of serious harm, safeguarding issues, legal obligations, or matters discussed in clinical supervision (where your identity remains protected). We'll go through these boundaries together during our initial session so you feel fully informed.
